The Island Community Chorus holiday concert arrives this weekend to open the holiday month in song.

The concert takes place at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, with shows on Saturday, beginning at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, beginning at 3 p.m.

The chorus is made up of community members and is directed by William Peek.

The year’s show is titled Sing We Joyous! and the repertoire ranges from America to Europe and to Africa.

Songs will lift up the holiday season in many ways, from Handel and Back to a Christmas spiritual and a jazzy Hanukkah piece.

Following the show there will be a reception that all are welcome to attend.

The suggested donation is $20 (students/ children are free).
