Island Grown Initiative’s Mobile Market will be making only two weekly stops this summer, its sixth year selling reduced-price and locally grown produce in Vineyard neighborhoods.

“[W]e are doing a program re-evaluation to ensure it is sustainable and fits its mission,” IGI development and marketing manager Natalie Poole wrote in an announcement Sunday.

Beginning next week, the market truck will be at Howes House in West Tisbury every Tuesday afternoon from 2:45 to 4 p.m., with the first 15 minutes reserved for online order pickup and open shopping from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On Thursdays starting June 16, the mobile market opens at St. Augustine’s Church in Vineyard Haven at 3:45 p.m. for online order pickup and from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for open shopping.

In addition to these two weekly stops, Ms. Poole wrote, IGI is also teaming up with community organizations to offer biweekly service in Aquinnah and Oak Bluffs.

The mobile market will be at the Aquinnah Tribal Housing Building on alternating Wednesdays starting June 29, with online order pickup at 3:45 p.m. and open shopping from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

On alternating Tuesdays beginning June 5, the market will visit Woodside Village for online order pickup at 8:45 a.m. and open shopping from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Online orders are due by 5 p.m. the day before pickup and can be placed at https://mobilemarketorders.square.site/.

The market is open to all Islanders and accepts cash, checks, credit cards, Pandemic EBT (P-EBT), SNAP/HIP, FreshConnect, Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program Senior and WIC coupons and Mobile Market coupons. The season is currently scheduled to end Oct. 19.
