The new Vineyard Seadogs calendar has arrived just in time for the dog days of August. Take a journey around the Island with these dogs who delight in all things Vineyard — the beaches, harbors, porches and even reading rooms. Maybe they can read after all.

The sea dogs are headed to the bank, the Chilmark bank to be specific.

This month, through March 2, Lisa Vanderhoop will be holding an exhibit of her photography at the Sovereign Bank located across from the Chilmark Community Center.

She is also branching out. The exhibit features numerous valentine cards of the dogs, cats (what will the sea dogs say?), birds and a host of other animals.

The new Vineyard Seadogs Calendar 2011 is available in Island stores. The fifth in a series, it features dozens of canine companions romping in the surf, jumping off of docks, frolicking in the sea, and even windsurfing, all indicating Martha’s Vineyard really has gone to the dogs.

Find these funny, furry, wet and endearing Seadogs at Bunch of Grapes, Edgartown Books, Menemsha Market, Cronig’s, Alleys, Aquinnah Shop, Craftworks, Rainy Day, Good Dog Goods, SBS, Tisbury Farm Market, Rosecuts, and the Menemsha Inn.
