A traffic study of Edgartown’s seasonally-congested Upper Main street is the first step in a public review of a planned expansion at Shop & Stop.


The Edgartown planning board has begun gathering information and suggestions in the latest attempt to solve, or at least improve the traffic snarl created in the village by cars headed to Chappaquiddick during the summer months.

Edgartown selectmen agreed Monday to traffic and parking restrictions to accommodate ongoing construction on the new town library.
