An estimated 5,000 to 6,000 people strolled downtown Vineyard Haven on Monday night, from the Mansion House to the Green Room, browsing street-side stalls for the annual Tisbury Street Fair.
The Tisbury Street Fair began in 1971 to commemorate the town’s third centennial. The annual event is a place for Islanders and visitors to mix and mingle.
This year's Tisbury Street Fair has been proclaimed Cora Medeiros Day after the fair’s founding mother and longtime selectman who died in May. The fair begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
