A Bulgarian man pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston this week in connection with a string of thefts from Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank ATMs that occurred eight years ago. Sentencing is set for May 26 for Georgi Kanev, 33.

West Tisbury police are investigating a break-in and theft that took place at Alley’s General Store sometime Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Police chief Dan Rossi said a little more than $800 in cash was stolen.
Police are investigating a series of thefts Wednesday at up-Island businesses, including several farm stands. Police said money and cash registers were taken from Little Leona’s Pets and Supplies and Fiddlehead Farm. Money was also taken from honor-system farm stands in Chilmark.
