With the spring sports season under way, the two-time state champion girls tennis team is back on the courts. In their third game of the season last Thursday, the girls faced Sandwich, and the winning streak continued.


The Martha's Vineyard girls tennis team won the state championship Wednesday with a 5-0 win. For the second straight year the Vineyarders completed an undefeated season.

First year varsity tennis player Camilla Prata helped send the girls team to their second straight Division 3 state championship final with a big win at third singles on Monday afternoon at North Newton High School.

The girls tennis team inched closer to their second-straight Division III south sectional championship and perfect season with a 5-0 victory over Ursuline High School.


The undefeated girls’ tennis team arrived at the division three state championship match ready to take no prisoners, and quickly swept the singles matches to take home the state title.

The girls’ tennis team has steamrolled its way to the finals of the division three state tournament. The Vineyarders play Hopedale Friday in the final match of the MIAA tournament after defeating Lynnfield 3-2 at Lexington High School Wednesday afternoon.
