Nearly a year after its referral to the Martha’s Vineyard Commission as a development of regional impact (DRI), Safe Harbor Marinas’ plan to expand its Vineyard Haven facility received commission approval in a 9-3 vote.


With the meeting running late, the commission delayed its decision on the Meshacket Commons affordable housing development in Edgartown.
The MVC continued hearings on the Navigator Homes workforce housing complex, and a plan by Safe Harbor Marinas to build two new boat racks.
The historic marina on Lagoon Pond Road in Vineyard Haven, now owned by Safe Harbor Marinas, wants to exchange buildings for boat racks and gravel surfaces for concrete slabs.


Safe Harbor Marinas, a Dallas-based network of boating businesses, has purchased Prime Marina, the Island's largest marine service and storage business.
