For Mother’s Day weekend, Edgartown likes to get colorful.
Mother’s Day weekend and the beginning of spring are coming together for one extravaganza taking place all over Edgartown. The Pink & Green weekend runs from May 10 to 12 and is celebrated with shopping, noshing and even dancing at numerous locations. Sponsored by the Edgartown Board of Trade, the colorful weekend gets the season going for local businesses while offering special deals and events for visitors and year-rounders. It all starts this Friday and ends sometime after the Mother’s Day brunches and the last second-look at the boutiques on Sunday.
The Edgartown Board of Trade is celebrating a new event, the Pink & Green weekend, from May 11 to May 13 with promotions and discounts on pink and green items. The Edgartown Council on Aging will serve a pink and green meal — salmon primavera with snow peas — at the Anchors, and kids are invited to create their own herb gardens at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. There will be crafts at the library, and special Mother’s Day breakfasts or brunches at the Edgartown Inn, Among the Flowers and the Harbor View Hotel.
