Two icons of Martha’s Vineyard music were reunited at the Edgartown library Tuesday night: pianist David Crohan and the century-old Mason & Hamlin grand piano he donated to the library three years ago.

Now living in Seattle, Silas Berlin is the 25-year-old son of versatile Island pianist Jeremy Berlin, one of many in the audience who smiled as they listened to the young performer whose musical development they have been following for years.

More than 50 listeners filled nearly every seat in the West Tisbury Library community room for Saturday’s concert by the chamber ensemble Music Street.

Longtime Vineyarder David Stanwood was named to the Piano Technicians Guild Hall of Fame this summer — but he didn’t even know about it until the next day.

A trio of pianists help celebrate the donation of a 100-year-old Steinway piano to Featherstone at a holiday show featuring John Alaimo, Jeremy Berlin and Kemp Harris, with Eric Johnson on guitar.
