Armed with marketing experience, seven years cultivating a community at the Oak Bluffs Library and a lifelong connection to the Vineyard, Carolina Cooney is ready to tackle her next role.


Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce executive director Nancy Gardella announced her resignation Tuesday after 15 years heading the organization. Ms. Gardella will leave her post at the end of the year, an announcement said.


In a quick reversal, the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and Martha’s Vineyard Hospital retracted an open letter to seasonal homeowners after seeing backlash Tuesday.


The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce is now a reality. This association, from which it is hoped much will be accomplished in the future for the material prosperity of the Island, has now perfected its permanent organization.

It’s officers and committees, printed below, will be seen to be some of the Island’s representative men, and all of them have the Island’s best interests at heart.
