The NHL spared no expense making a documentary short on the Vineyard high school boys hockey team, shipping over an entire five-person camera crew in the run-up to its season opener against off-Island rival Whitman-Hanson.

Vineyard boys varsity hockey ended their season on home ice Tuesday in dramatic fashion, losing in overtime to rival Nantucket.
The boys’ hockey team will play Nantucket on Tuesday at home in the second round of the MIAA tournament. The puck drops at 5:30 p.m.


Matt Mincone, head coach of the high school boys hockey team and West Tisbury police chief, was surprised Tuesday with a plaque honoring his 200th win.
