Fifteen volunteer firefighters from Edgartown and Tisbury graduated on Wednesday evening from an accelerated firefighter 1 and 2 course. The graduation ceremony was held at the Edgartown school.
Island fire departments joined an all-out response Friday morning to a boat fire in Lake Tashmoo. Officials said there were no injuries and damage was largely contained to the boat.

The walls came down on the old Tisbury fire station on Beach street in Vineyard Haven Wednesday morning. So did the roof.
Town crews did the work as the first part of the demolition project, Tisbury town administrator John (Jay) Grande said.
