A proposal by the historic Harbor View Hotel to continue its long-term, $55 million renovation project and expand its spa is seeing pushback from North Water street neighbors.
The historic Harbor View and Kelley House hotels in Edgartown were sold at public auction this week to First Winthrop Corp., a Boston real estate company which owns 160 commercial properties on Nantucket. Purchase price was $12,305,000.
The historic Edgartown hotel has been sold to Upland Capital Corporation, a Boston-based asset management and real estate investment firm founded by seasonal resident Bernard Chiu.
Variety, the newspaper of the show business, has found Alfred Hall and his career on the Vineyard of interest enough to justify an extensive story — part interview — by J. C. Dine. Mr. Dine’s story appeared under an Edgartown dateline, as of Sept. 6. Here, with only a few omissions, is what he wrote:
