Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living (MVCL) in Vineyard Haven has received a two-year pilot grant for a robust in-home respite service. The award is being made by the Massachusetts Executive of Office of Health and Human Services

Respite Innovations creates another opportunity for MVCL to serve the Island’s growing aging demographic. The project will address the urgent need for more caregiver respite. High-quality, person-centered, in-home respite services will provide relief for overburdened caregivers and a meaningful experience for care recipients. Respite Innovations is based on the work of MVCL’s Supportive Day Program.

The service will be available Islanwide from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during weekdays. A fee for service will be charged and scholarships may be available.
