Summer Internships

The Vineyard Gazette is now accepting applications from college students and post-graduates for full-time paid summer internships. Interns MUST have the use of a car and a valid driver’s license. Limited housing is available. Interns must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Positions begin in mid May and run through end of August. The application deadline is March 10, 2023. 

News Reporting Intern

Newsroom interns cover news and features including weekend arts and cultural events, and assist with a wide variety of tasks from proofreading to helping with the press Thursday evenings when the Vineyard Gazette is printed. Journalism or other nonacademic writing experience at the college level is required. Strong writing skills are essential, and experience working with digital media including social media, video and photography is strongly preferred. Candidates must be highly organized, motivated to learn and able to work on deadline in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Marketing Intern

Intern will be exposed to the business side of publishing by assisting with a range of activities, including marketing, promotion, event planning, customer service and distribution. The ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades – confident, detail oriented and able to represent the Vineyard Gazette Media Group in interactions with the public. Excellent writing and organizational skills are required. We are looking for a self-starter who is hardworking and eager to learn. Year-Round Opportunities

Operations Assistant/Press

Part-time, year-round help needed for physically demanding job assisting with printing and distribution of the Vineyard Gazette. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Must be reliable and have own transportation to and from Edgartown. Afternoon and evening hours every Thursday only.
