General Assignment Reporter

The Vineyard Gazette has an immediate opening for a general assignment reporter. We are seeking candidates with excellent writing and editing skills, a curious mind and a nose for news. Multimedia experience is a plus. Full-time position offers health insurance and salary commensurate with experience. Candidates must have a car and valid driver's license. Housing may be available.

Senior Editor - Martha's Vineyard Magazine

Martha's Vineyard Magazine is seeking an experienced senior editor who is skilled in working with a diverse array of stories, engaging with writers, and dreaming up new approaches to covering the Island. Responsibilities include editing, writing, headlining, story idea generation, and assigning. This is a full-time poistion that offers health insurance and salary commensurate with experience. Must be a Vineyard resident, though occasional remote work is possible.

Part-time, year-round worker needed to help with printing and distribution of the Vineyard Gazette. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Must be reliable and have own transportation to and from Edgartown. Afternoon and evening hours -- every Thursday only.

Summer 2024 Opportunities

The Vineyard Gazette Media Group is now accepting applications from college students and post-graduates for  full-time paid summer internships. Interns MUST have use of a car and a valid driver's license. Limited housing is available. Interns must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Positions begin in mid-May and run through the end of August. The application deadline is March 15, 2024.

News Reporting Internship

Newsroom interns cover news and features including weekend arts and cultural events and assist with a wide vareity of tasks from proofreading to helping with the press Thursday evenings when the Vineyard Gazette is printed. Journalism or other non-academic writing experience at the college level is required. Strong writing skills are essential, and experience working with digital media including social media, video and photography is strongly preferred. Candidates must be highly organized, motivated to learn and able to work on deadline in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Marketing Internship

Intern will be exposed to the business side of publishing by assisting with a range of activities including marketing, promotion, event planning, customer service and distribution. The ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades -- confident, detail-oriented and able to represent the Vineyard Gazette Media Group in interactions with the public. Excellent writing and organizational skills are required. We are looking for a self-starter who is hardworking and eager to learn.
