Pamela Brock and her friend Docia Reed, both neighbors in Waltham, spent a glorious week over the Fourth visiting Pam’s mom, Leigh Smith. The weather was perfect, yet hot, as you well know. The ladies got plenty of things done and caught up with Pam’s friends. They were delighted to be hosted by Leigh. Look for Pam’s return in August.

What is with this crazy weather? Did our friends from Connecticut bring it? Welcome back to so many seasonal faces. Wanda Denton has returned from West Hartford and is gardening. Jim and Trude Hart have returned from Florida and are gardening. Felicity Tuttle and Jim Weisman came down from Winchester and are gardening. Bill and Jan Stokes arrived from Waterbury and are gardening. It’s great to see them, but they all make me feel guilty because I’m not gardening.

To continue with Nancy and Cheyenne’s excellent adventure to New York: as soon as we reached the outskirts of White Plains she began her mantra, “When can we go to a mall? When can we go to a mall?” Rather like when we three kids would torture my father while he drove us in the car, “Can we stop for Carvel? Can we stop for Carvel?” I suggested it might be nice to say hello to Nonna first and drop the dogs and cat off so they could use the facilities.

Great flowers are shooting up all over! I meant to get to the Hebrew Center’s second night Seder but couldn’t. However, Renae Brown and her girls, Cheyenne and Monique, had me over for a lovely Easter dinner the next day, with quite a few surprises. I can say no more.
