Vineyard House, the Island’s only sober living facility, will soon be opening a new residential campus in Vineyard Haven. The ribbon cutting is Dec. 19.

At an open house last week, leaders at the Island's only residential facility for recovery from addiction showcased the new modular Vineyard Haven complex. The $3 million project is due to be completed by the end of the year.

Vineyard House has scheduled an open house on Thursday, August 28, at 9 a.m. Supporters of the new sober living facility being built on Short Hill Road in Vineyard Haven are invited to stop by and assess the progress being made on the new facilities.

Despite stormy weather, spirits were high at the Vineyard House Water Tasting, which drew a crowd of over 300 supporters. Vineyard House was founded in 1997, and is Martha’s Vineyard’s only sober living facility for people recovering from substance abuse.

On Thursday, August 7, Vineyard House hosts its 17th Annual Water Tasting by the Sea event to benefit the Island’s only sober living facility.

For most Vineyarders, driving off the ferry back onto the Island is a moment filled with excitement or a sigh of relief. But for those returning from detoxification units for alcoholism and addiction it is a time of temptation and anxiety.
