Tisbury voters head to the polls Tuesday for the second time in three years to determine the fate of a $55 million renovation and overhaul of their town school. Early voting was Thursday.
Tisbury voters elected a new select board member and gave a final, resounding stamp of approval to the bill to create a Martha’s Vineyard Housing Bank in a quiet town election Tuesday that saw low turnout. Just 552 of the town’s 3,710 voters cast ballots.
Select board member Jeff Kristal will not seek re-election this spring. Mr. Kristal, an innkeeper and town businessman, has served three terms but not consecutively. The annual town election is May 24.
Tisbury has set its town meeting for April 12 and its town election May 24. Nomination papers are due April 5.
