Island nonprofits and community leaders gathered Thursday to celebrate the hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships given out by the Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation.

Twelve years ago Oak Bluffs seasonal residents Angella and Danroy Henry launched the DJ Henry Dream Fund, a nonprofit scholarship organization designed to help kids participate in sports and wellness programs.

Martha's Vineyard Bank announced the creation of a $250,000 scholarship fund in memory of Philip (Jeffrey) Norton, who served as Edgartown town moderator for more than four decades.

The following scholarships were presented to the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 2020.

The annual class night ceremony held on June 7 at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs distributed scholarships totaling more than $2.5 million.

This year more than $2.2 million awards were presented at the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School class night on June 8.

The following scholarships were presented to the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 2017 at class night on June 9.

A total of $1.79 million in scholarships was handed out this year to Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School seniors and postgraduates, setting a new record.
