The luck of the Irish was with the St. Patrick’s day parade Saturday as the sky was clear and the air balmy. Grand marshal John Murray and his assistant Ryan Murray led the shortest parade on the Vineyard, currently in its fifth year.

St. Patrick's Day Will Be Celebrated with Parade

Coming back to Edgartown this year: a leprechaun-sized Saint Patrick’s Day parade.

Selectmen approved the Kelley House Inn and Newes from America Pub’s request to host the second annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade on March 17. The parade will follow a two-block route from the bottom of Main street to the top of Kelley street. Kelley street will be closed to traffic from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

News Update: Tuesday, March 6 - Edgartown Will Host St. Patrick's Day Parade

Boston has its famous St. Patrick’s Day parade and revelry. This year, Edgartown will have its own, smaller, celebration of all things Irish.

On Monday, the Edgartown selectmen approved the Kelley House Inn’s proposal for the first annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday, March 17. The parade route is small enough for a leprechaun: from Dock street to the Newes from America Pub on Kelley street. Parade organizers estimate the event will take five or 10 minutes.
