Sail MV is beginning its winter lecture series at the The Black Dog Tavern on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Andrew Nutton will become the new director of programs at Sail Martha’s Vineyard in September. He has been running the sailing department at the Royal Hospital School in England for 10 years.

Maritime historian Matthew Stackpole will lead a voyage to the 19th century next week.

Brock Callen Jr. and his father, Sail Martha’s Vineyard executive director and maritime instructor Brock Callen Sr. recently spent two and a half weeks steaming across the Pacific aboard a research vessel.

On Dec. 27, the father and son team of Brocks Callen (they share the same name) headed out to sea.
