Sullivan, Jabberwocky 5Ks This Weekend

Two favorite 5Ks happen on Saturday, August 23: the Sullivan 5K Walk and Run in Oak Bluffs, and the Run for Jabberwocky 5K in Edgartown.

Ready, Set, Run for Vineyard House

Vineyard House invites all to its 24th Annual Columbus Day 5K Road Race and 1 Mile Fun Run on Sunday, Oct. 13. The race begins at 10:30 at Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs, continues along New York avenue, to the East Chop bluffs and back to the finish line in front of the Wesley House Hotel.

Runners Complete Loop in 10K Benefit for Gay Head Light

A trio of cross-country runners took the top spots in the first annual Gay Head 10K held Sunday morning in Aquinnah. Conor Welch, 25, of Allston, won the race with a time of 36:06.

Pennywise Path 5K

Run, don’t walk to sign up for the Pennywise Path Walk/Run to the new library in Edgartown set for Labor Day, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. Participants will be transported by bus from the Edgartown School, the site of the new library, to the start of the 5K race at the Pennywise Path Preserve off 18th street.

10K Volunteers Needed

Even if you’re not of the athletic persuasion, you can still do your part to bring the Save the Gay Head Lighthouse Committee’s inaugural 5K to fruition.

Volunteers are needed to facilitate promotion, registration, site preparation and awards, as well as to staff medical/aid stations and water stations, provide course security and clean up after the event. The committee also needs a volunteer coordinator.

Run for Jabberwocky 5K Race Results

More than 360 runners participated in the annual Run for Jabberwocky 5K on Saturday, August 17. The race started and finished at the Farm Institute in Katama.

New Year's Eve Benefit Run

On New Year’s Day there will be a 5K run/walk to benefit the family of Jim Moore who is battling cancer. The run begins at 11 a.m. at Martha’s Vineyard Chowder Company in Oak Bluffs.

The cost is $20 in advance or $25 day of race and $5 for children under 12.
