Sarah P. Wylde Culkin of Franklin Lakes, N.J. and formerly of Vineyard Haven died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 6. She was 87.

She was born Feb. 27, 1936 in Philadelphia to Patrick and Esther Wylde.

She met and married the love of her life, Daniel Culkin, in 1961 and they enjoyed 61 years of loving and loyal marriage together. They were blessed with four children. Sadly, Daniel predeceased her in 2021.

She had been a resident of Franklin Lakes since 1969. She was a parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Franklin Lakes.

Sarah was a loving mother and wife and nothing meant more to her than her family. She enjoyed time spent with them at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes and making beloved family ski trips. She enjoyed boating on the Vineyard with family and friends, and she and her family were members of the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club. She also enjoyed time spent with the women’s and garden clubs.

Sarah was a devoted mother to Elizabeth Mirabelli and her husband Mario of Chatham, Barbara Dugan and her husband John of Ramsey, Mark Culkin of Franklin Lakes and the late Peter Culkin. She was a cherished grandmother to John Dugan Jr., Daniel Dugan and Katherine Mirabelli.

In addition to her husband Daniel, she was also predeceased by her siblings, Daniel Wylde and Catherine Peszka.

Her service will be held privately.
