Catherine Chiquoine Jaccodine, formerly of Allentown, Pa., and Martha’s Vineyard, died peacefully at her home in Scituate on Dec. 1. She was 91. Born in New York city, she was the daughter of Alexander Duncan Chiquoine and Gladys (Cowles) Chiquoine of Scarsdale, N.Y. She attended the Walnut Hill School, Colby Junior College and Syracuse University. She married Ralph Jaccodine and they moved to Allentown in 1959 when Ralph started his career at Bell Laboratories. They had four children and 10 grandchildren. Catherine was an incredible, loving mother whose beautiful smile, quick laugh and constant, patient love were a comfort to all who were lucky to have had her in their lives.

She worked as an early childhood teacher for many years at Hope Nursery School in Allentown, and served her beloved Allentown community in many volunteer positions over the decades they resided there. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas More Church.

Ralph predeceased her in 2013. She is survived by her children, Mary E Jaccodine of Orinda, Calif., Ralph A Jaccodine of Cambridge, Barbara Jaccodine of Scituate, and Catherine Jaccodine Hovey of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and her ten beloved grandchildren.

A private family gathering was held on the Vineyard on Dec. 4, with interment at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
