Paul J. Sheehan Jr. of Barrington, R.I., died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 3, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 and the husband of Wendy (Whitehead) Sheehan, to whom he was married for 50 years.

Born in Medford, he was a son of the late Paul J. Sr. and Florence J. (Crowley) Sheehan.

A graduate of Saint Columbkille’s School in Brighton, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Sheehan was a business owner and pharmacist on Martha’s Vineyard for 25 years, and retired from Fallon Healthcare Systems in 2004.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Thomas Sheehan and his wife Julie of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; two daughters, Tracey Orchard and her husband Scott of Barrington, R.I. and Holly Sheehan and her husband Steve Niles of Portland, Me.; two sisters, Mary McCrorey and Florence Sheehan; nine grandchildren, Katharine, William, Caroline, Paul 3rd, Margaret, Elizabeth, Caleb, Liam and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road in Barrington, R.I. A private interment with military honors will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
