Jeffrey Tonnesen died suddenly on July 26 at his home in Manhattan. He was 35.

He lived and worked there, enjoying a successful career in the music business. Those who knew and loved him marveled at his great joy, basked in his amazing warmth and leaned towards his bright spirit. Always brilliant and bold, with Jeffrey there were no half measures. With his big laugh and an even bigger heart, he was impossible to resist. We miss him now. We will miss him always.

He was survived by his parents Mark and Breeze Tonnesen, his sister and brother in law Quinn and Stephen Savard, and his grandmother Betty Hodges, all of Vineyard Haven; his brother Erik Tonnesen and mother Cathy Traynor of New York, N.Y., his sister and brother in law Dwi and Jeremy Upole of Hockessin, Del., his aunt Keren Tonnesen of Oak Bluffs, his uncle David Tonnesen and aunt PJ Su of Boston, and his uncle Tim Tonnesen of California. He especially loved his young nieces and nephews Jaden and Ashton Upole, and Eamon, Nola and Gideon Savard who thought of him as a super hero uncle, always ready to spoil and delight them.

His funeral was held in Brooklyn on August 1. There will be a memorial service held at his parent’s home in Vineyard Haven in September.
