John A.C. MacLean Jr. died on Sunday, May 12 while wintering in Florida. He was 73.

He was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, but was raised in Massachusetts and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. He was the son of the late John and Alena MacInnis MacLean and brother of the late Neil and Allan MacLean. He had been a longtime resident of Pembroke, as well as a summer resident of Oak Bluffs.

He was the beloved husband of Janice Comery MacLean. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Christine MacLean Locke of Stoughton, and his children, John MacLean 3rd and his wife Debra of Pembroke, Janelle MacLean Lan and her husband Andrew of Swampscott, Jeffrey MacLean and his wife Sandra of Davie, Fla., and James MacLean and his wife Irena of Brockton. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy. They are: Lillianna Manon, Michael and Adam Lan, MacKenzie and Mason MacLean, and Melana and Natalia MacLean. He also has four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Pembroke on Wednesday, May 22 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow on Saturday, May 25 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Bluffs.
