Marion Allanbrook of Falmouth and formerly of Martha’s Vineyard died peacefully at her Falmouth home on March 30. She was 63. She is survived by her children: Geri A. Smith and William N. Smith, and her loving grandchildren: Ryan and his wife, Masha; Austin; and Aidan, all of Martha’s Vineyard.

She is also survived by her siblings Walter Allanbrook and his wife, Michelle, of Chelmsford; Arthur and Fran Allanbrook of South Yarmouth; Dorothy Allanbrook Lockwood of Las Vegas; and Elinor MacKenzie Tennant and her husband, Robert, of Pocasset. Marion was predeceased in death by her brother Richard Allanbrook of Weymouth. She is also survived by many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.

Born in Boston, Marion grew up in Avon and graduated from Avon High School, where she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Smith.

She was a former employee of Cottle’s Lumber and Falmouth Lumber, where she was loved by her employers and many devoted customers.

Marion rescued many Italian greyhounds and is grateful to Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation for the rescue work they do. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marion’s name be made to the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation: P.O. Box 13, Whitman MA 025382.
