Jeffrey Alan Lunn, of Falmouth and formerly of Oak Bluffs, died on Feb. 2, 2013 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a long illness. He was 60 years old.

He was born at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital in Oak Bluffs on Feb. 4, 1952 and graduated from Martha’s Vineyard High School in 1970. He joined the U.S. Army in September of 1972 as a heavy equipment operator. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, for many years.

He was discharged from the Army in July 1978 and held a number of different jobs, including finishing work for a builder in the Falmouth area until he moved to Florida. There he worked for Nationwide Boats as a dispatcher, and Joule Yacht Transport and hauled boats for many boat shows. He was also an OTR driver/dispatcher in Clearwater, Fla.

He returned home to Falmouth in 2001 after attending his nephew’s graduation. He worked for Teledyne-Benthos in North Falmouth and Cumberland Farms in downtown Falmouth. He loved working on his computer. He also was a people person and loved socializing,

especially on Facebook with his buddies. Everyone always looked forward to his “Daily Thoughts to Ponder.” He was a family man and a father figure for his nephews. Four years ago he was reunited with his son Rusty, who was the apple of his eye. He was so happy after finding him.

Jeffrey is survived by his son, Russell “Rusty” Dean Lunn III; his sisters, Crystal Lunn and Victoria Duart; nephews Jason, Nicholas and Timothy Lunn and Russell Daniel Lunn; niece Gloria Lunn; and many more nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Westside Cemetery on Robinson Road in Edgartown. Arrangements are under the care of the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs. An online guestbook and directions are available at ccgfuneralhome.com.
