Evelyn F. Thomas of Port Charlotte, Fla. and formerly of Vineyard Haven died Sunday, Dec. 9. She was 95. Evelyn was born May 5, 1917 in Brockton. She led a full and rewarding life as a registered nurse and public health professional, working overseas in refugee camps throughout the world, including along the Thailand-Cambodia border, Afghanistan, Yemen, Togo and Vietnam. She retired to the Vineyard, where she was owner of Tisbury Antiques and served on the Tisbury board of health, board of assessors and the Vineyard Nursing Association.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Ann Catala of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Sally Rameriz of Panama city, Fla.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron C. Thomas.
