Judson Fuld Schiebel died at his home on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012. He was 97.

He was born on April 19, 1915 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Norman and Mary (Mihlstein) Schiebel. He graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and attended New York University for his B.A. degree, fulfilled CPA requirements and later obtained his J.D. degree from St. John’s University.

His professional work took him to Jaeger Watch Co. and eventually to B. Manischewitz Co., where he was the comptroller for many years. He completed his financial career as treasurer of the Barbizon Co. in New York, from which he retired in 1978.

Judson and his wife of more than 68 years, Marion Ruth Margolis, travelled extensively. They also spent time at their beloved lagoon cottage on Martha’s Vineyard, and their apartment in Hoboken, N.J.

Reading, opera and classical music, stamp collecting, golf and acrostics were favorite pastimes of Jud, as well as spending time with his family. He is survived by his three children, Barbara and husband Dennis Lockwood Wagner of Madison, Wis.; Jonathan Schiebel of Dusseldorf, Germany and Laura and husband David Kline of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four grandchildren, Brian and wife Brenda Lockwood of Minneapolis, Minn., Keith and wife Beth Lockwood also of Minneapolis, Tammy and husband David Priest of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Mae and husband David Ashby of Orlando, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Olivia Priest; sister in law Bernice Bloch of Delray Beach, Fla.; seven nephews and nieces, and his two extraordinary caregivers, Nick and Davaa.
