Brendan David Archibald of Selbyville, Del., died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 28 in Bishopville, Md. He was 39.

Born on Sept. 23, 1973, in Flemington, N.J, he was the son of Rev. David J. and Susan Morris Archibald, of Selbyville, the grandson of Jean and John Morris, of East Chop and the nephew of Mary Woodcock, also of East Chop. He was a member of St. Martin’s-in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Selbyville. Brendan was a self-employed carpenter and electrician, and had driven a race car in Tennessee. He absolutely loved fishing on Martha’s Vineyard, and spent the last two weeks of August on a perfect vacation in East Chop.
 
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is survived by two children, Lillian Mae Archibald and Ethan David Archibald, both of Selbyville; and his siblings, Alexandra Archibald of Bloomsbury, N.J., Lincoln Archibald of Huntsville, Ala., and John Archibald of Flemington, N.J. He is also survived by numerous cousins, friends and extended family members.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Martin’s-in-the-Field, Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. Harry Collins officiating.
