Gerald L. Nordstrom Sr. Was U.S. Navy Veteran

Gerald Lee Nordstrom Sr., 66, of Edgartown died Wednesday, April 28, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston after a short illness.

He lived in Edgartown for the past 35 years, working as a fisherman and carpenter. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1963 after seven years of service. He worked for the Woods Hole Oceanographic as a seaman before working for the Steamship Authority for 14 years and retiring in 1996.

Mr. Nordstrom was a member of the Oriental-Martha's Vineyard Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by two sons, Gerald Nordstrom Jr. of Maui and Christopher Nordstrom of Franklin; a daughter, Lisa Nordstrom of Franklin; a brother, Wayne Nordstrom of Somerville, and four grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs on Wednesday, May 5, from 4 to 5 p.m. with a Masonic service at 5 p.m.
