Doris Pizzano, 73, Was Resident of Edgartown

Doris Pizzano, age 73, of Edgartown, formerly of Acton, died at her home on Tuesday, March 9.

She was a past president of the Edgartown's Woman's Club and a volunteer with the Edgartown soup supper program.

She was the beloved wife of Walter Pizzano of 43 years. She was the mother of Susan of Maynard, Walter of Hull, and David and his wife, Cecily, of Edgartown. She was the grandmother of Auguste and Jackson Pizzano of Edgartown. She was the sister of Jeanne Thistle and her husband, James, of Everett, and Marilyn Gigliotti and her husband, Paul, of Andover. She was predeceased by her brother, George DeNapoli, S.J. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. She will be missed by many.

Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth's Church, Edgartown. Interment will follow in the New Westside Cemetery, off Robinson Road, Edgartown. Visiting hours will be held in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs on Friday, March 12, from 4 to 8 pm.
