June A. Bosworth Was U.S. Air Force Veteran

June A. Bosworth of Oak Bluffs, 59, died suddenly on Feb. 15. She was the daughter of the late Leroy K. Bosworth and Delia Bosworth Ferreira. She retired from the United States Air Force with 22 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Disabled American Veterans.

June achieved a multitude of accomplishments throughout her military career, including recognition for academic excellence in the U.S. Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officers Academy. Additionally, she received a personal letter of appreciation for her service in the Armed Forces from former President William Jefferson Clinton. Her civilian academic achievements were no less outstanding than those in the military; she obtained her master's degree from Boston College and was graduated with high honors.

She is survived by her best friend Debra, many close friends and relatives. Those close to her knew how much she loved to make people laugh. Her passing will be a great loss to many. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, Feb. 21, at 12 noon at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Bluffs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Windemere Nursing and Rehab Van Fund, Attn: Betsy Burmeister, P.O. Box 1747, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557 or to Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, P.O. Box 494, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. Arrangements are by the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs.
