Robert Park, 83, Served as World War Veteran

Robert (Bob) Park, formerly of Edgartown and late of Wyomissing, Pa., died Jan. 24. He was 83 years old. He was born in Santa Ana, Calif., son of William B. and Helen (Cory) Park. He leaves a widow, Patricia (Raub) Park.

He was graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1942 with a degree in business and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed by Raybestos Manhattan Inc. in Passaic, N.J., for 25 years, retiring as national sales manager. He was also the owner of Park Associates in Ridgewood, N.J.

In 1960, Bob and Pat Park first visited and fell in love with Martha's Vineyard. They retired in 1985 to Edgartown, where they lived until 1994. Bob was a member of the First and Third Club on the Island and enjoyed singing with Abendmusik and the choir at Christ United Methodist Church in Vineyard Haven.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son, R. Gregory Park of Cincinnati, Ohio, and two daughters, Diana (Park) Ackley of Canyon Country, Calif., and Barbara R (Park) Schwenk of Reading, Pa. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He leaves a brother and sister in law, Eugene A. and Dottie (Hoffman) Park of San Pedro, Calif., and Oak Bluffs.

Services were held in Lincoln Park Methodist Church, Wyomissing.
