Norva L. Randolph, 66, Was Native of Oak Bluffs

Norva L. Randolph of Aquinnah died Jan. 19 at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital. She was 66.

She was born in Oak Bluffs on August 30, 1936 to the late Richard N. and Alberta (White) Randolph. The family moved to Boston and Norva was graduated from Boston Girls High School. She worked for the Raytheon Co. and then the Massachusetts State Treasury. She retired as a head teller from the treasury in August of 1998 after 34 years of service. Before her retirement, she lived in Malden and attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Upon retirement she moved year-round to Aquinnah. She was an active member of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah). She served on the tribal council, the chief council, the child protective team and the membership committee. She was also involved in elder affairs with the tribe.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl A. Wilson and her husband, Ian, of Malden and Frances L. Pringle of Alston; two grandchildren; a sister, Mavis Camillo of Oak Bluffs, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Arthur G. Pringle Jr., and two brothers, Bruce N. Randolph and Carl R. Randolph.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Buffs. Donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
