The Martha’s Vineyard boys basketball team took home a win in the second round of playoffs Saturday, beating out Lynnfield 63-47.

Captain Nate Story led the team with 20 points as Lynnfield tried to stop Josh Lake, who was coming off a pair of 40-plus point games for the Vineyarders.

“They were double-teaming [Lake] everytime he got the ball but he did a great job of distributing it,” Coach Mike Joyce said after the game.

Sam Zack had 15 points and Lake had 10 points. Tysean Thomas held the team down on the boards, hauling in 8  rebounds to go with his 8 points.

“It was huge,” Mr. Joyce said.

The team will now face Medfield in Medfield on Tuesday. The Vineyarders have never played sixth-seeded Medfield, but Mr. Joyce said he’s seen some of their games and expects a good contest.

“They are a lot like us actually,” he said, noting they have good size and solid rebouding.  “It will be a big challenge, no question.”
