I am sitting here watching the snow fall, and it is falling fast. It has been a while since we have seen this amount of snow. The plows have been by my house twice already so I don’t know what we are in for.

Even though I live on a small street, it has been quite busy with the plows. I have to give a big thank you to all the highway department as I am sure they worked day and night, also to our police and fire department. Also, a big thank you to Eversource, who were also very busy with downed wires.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Madelyn MacDonald, Damon Reed and Lucca Rosa, who celebrated Feb. 10; Kayleigh Boyd, Miguel Marques and Josia Stennett, Feb. 12; Keegan Fallon, Feb. 13; Moreira Furtado, Feb. 14; Maria Gomes, Feb. 15; and to Ethan Burr, who celebrates his day on Feb. 16.

Social media has been full of pictures of parents out with their kid, sledding and building snowman. Keira and Jarek Peters were out showing their son Zaiden, who is four months old, his first snow. He will soon be joining all the kids hill sledding at Sweetened Water Farm. Bethany Scanlon and her daughter Avery got in some sledding and bowling. Then there were those of us who stayed in and cooked, I made a huge kale soup, binged our Netflix shows and just watched all the happenings outside.

Don’t forget the Edgartown Public Library always has some activities to do. On Saturday, Feb. 24 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a One Piano, Four Hands Concert with Molly Sturgis and Lisa Weiss. In this debut duet, Molly and Lisa will perform side by side on the Mason and Hamlin piano in the library’s program room. They will perform pieces by Mozart, Faure, Dello Joio and Schubert, written especially for four-hand piano. Light refreshments will be served.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
