We are happy to report that the young black cat Ralphie has found his forever home. Congratulations to Ralphie and his new family.

This week’s featured pet is Benny, an eight-year-old, rag doll mix who inherited those piercing blue eyes. We’re looking for a special angel for Benny as he suffers from diabetes and needs insulin injections. That said, he is a charming fellow, affectionate and quite the purrer.

Also available are Benny’s housemates. Jerry, is a four-year-old, male, black and white cat with artistic markings; Baby Cakes is a two-year-old female tabby; and Cabot, a long-haired orange and white boy three years of age. All three are sweet, gentle cats.

Please remember that the next nail clinic will take place this Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.; walks-ins only, $20 cash or check.

Saturday, Feb. 17 is the date of the next visit by All Pets Medical Center. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your pet, please contact them at 508-743-8338.

Did you know we get many calls about lost and found animals? We keep a written log and callers are advised to contact their town’s animal control officer, and also to use social media to advertise and collect data for these pets.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662. Shelter hours are: Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
