We’re sad to report that Ralphie welcomed in the new year alone at the shelter. Ralphie is a seven-month-old, large, black kitten with luminous gold eyes. He’s a sweet boy who is purring, awaiting and craving attention. He’s a real love bug. Wouldn’t someone love to give this guy a forever home for the new year?

The nail clinic is back this Saturday, Jan. 6, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Ellen Blodgett will be at the shelter to trim nails on dogs, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs. Walk-ins only, $20 cash or check preferred. All proceeds go to the shelter.

Saturday, Feb. 17 is the date of the next visit by All Pets Medical Center. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your pet, please contact them at 508-743-8338.

Do you know that we offer our services to the Island’s animal control officers on a regular basis? If we are asked, we provide as much help as we possibly can.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.

The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
