The Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation, which provides grants and scholarships to meet the local community’s needs, has announced changes to its board of directors.

Alec Walsh of Chilmark has been named the chair of the board of directors. Mr. Walsh moved to the Island after a career in financial services. He began serving the foundation in 2018 as a member of its investment committee and joined the board in 2020.

He succeeds Isabelle Lew, who served as board chair for two years and will continue to serve as a member.

Two new board members will bring experience and community engagement to the foundation. Luiza Mouzinho, who moved to the Vineyard from Brazil while in grade school, is a mental health counselor and works at the Island Counseling Center and her alma mater, the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Christopher Celeste has a diverse background that encompasses politics, advertising, technology, and real estate. He is involved in creating retail and real estate projects on the Vineyard.
