The Friends of MV Concert Series have announced the lineup for this summer’s series. Concerts will be held in June, July and August at The Loft in Oak Bluffs, the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown and the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Art Center at the regional high school in Oak Bluffs.

The Martha’s Vineyard Concert series season opens on June 10 with a concert by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Jorma Kaukonen, a founder of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. Subsequent performers include New Orleans quintet Galactic; high energy, Cape Cod-based band Crooked Coast; guitarist and Traffic founder Dave Mason; and Livingston Taylor, a longtime Island resident and favorite singer-songwriter.

A special event this season is a 40th anniversary celebration for MVY Radio, the Island’s album-based community radio station. To celebrate, contemporary rock group The Wallflowers, led by Jakob Dylan, will perform on July 29 at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center.

The series also includes writers who will be reading from their works. Best-selling author David Sedaris returns on August 1 with his satires and social critiques. On July 25, Vineyard-raised health and wellness expert Emma Lovewell will discuss her new memoir.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at MVConcertSeries.com. For a limited time, ticket buyers purchasing three or more shows will receive 10 per cent off the purchase.
