We are lucky the weather has been warm but some sun to go along with it would be nice. We can’t complain as we don’t have a ton of snow. I am sure the kids would love to go sledding and it is early yet so there is always hope.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Tabitha Brown and Henry Scott who celebrated Jan. 21; Nathan Carletti, Rita Hurley, Blue Ni and Addison Shemit who all celebrated on Jan. 22; Autumn Donnelly on Jan. 23; Alessandro Luiz on Jan. 24; Larrisa Diniz on Jan. 25; Deivid Barbosa on Jan. 26; and to Alexander Wallace, who celebrates on Jan. 27.

As I sat down to write this, I tried to think of something that was going on, who I had seen, who was here or going. After a long while, I thought it is winter; I’ll what do I want. So here are my thoughts:

You know it is winter when you get a parking space in town. You know it is winter when you spend the day in the kitchen cooking soups and casseroles for a week. You know it is winter when you spend your weekends binging limited series on Netflix. You know it is winter when there are specials being offered at your favorite restaurant and you know you have to leave the house to get there and think maybe not.

You know it is winter when you take a shower in the morning and put on a fresh pair of pajamas for the day.

You know it is winter when you go to the Stop & Shop for a social activity.

You know it is winter when you clean out all the closets and the cabinets under the sink. You know it is winter when your house is the only house lit up on your street. You know it is winter when you are grilling your steak on the grill with a winter coat, hat and gloves.

You know it is winter when you are snuggled in your favorite chair with your favorite blanket, a cup of tea and a good book.

Winter is not a bad thing: it is all in what you make of it. I hope you are all having a great winter. Spring will be here before you know it.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
