Three property sales closed this week in West Tisbury that will be used for conservation, a new nonprofit venture and a private residence.

The property formerly known as Stillpoint is situated between State Road and North Road in the heart of the Mill Brook watershed, which includes Priester’s Pond and Crocker Pond.

As announced earlier , the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank bought seven parcels for $2.5 million, while a group headed by Thomas Bena of Chilmark bought four parcels for $2.325 million. In a third transaction, two parcels were sold to filmmakers Anna Fitch and Banker White.

The seller was Stillpoint Meadows LLC, whose principal is Claudia Miller.

Mr. Bena is president of Stillpoint Martha’s Vineyard Inc., whose lengthy mission includes “To do all things related to creating a gathering place for people from all walks of life for educational offerings including, but not limited to, discussions, workshops, silent retreats, and the arts.” The other directors of Stillpoint are Scott Fish of West Tisbury and Bill Russell of Vineyard Haven.
