The YMCA of Martha's Vineyard has announced that it will reopen its facility to members Sept. 9.

Membership dues, suspended since March, will resume in September unless members notify the club that they would like to defer until Oct. 1 or Jan. 1, according to the announcement from membership coordinator Lindsay Webster.

"In the recent months, closing the facility to members has meant providing vital emergency child care to Island families, and hosting the best summer possible for our campers," Ms. Webster wrote. "(I)n a time when the world has felt strange, to them, this gift has been immeasurable."

A new membership agreement, to be issued in the coming weeks, will spell out Covid-era safety regulations and changes. Meanwhile, the Y Without Walls virtual program continues at ymcamv.org/fitness-schedule and the Y has extended its drive-in movie screenings through October.

More information about the Y is posted at ymcamv.org.
