Although the 20th annual Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival was canceled due to the pandemic, its opening night film, Spaceship Earth, will be available as a streaming rental through the festival's website starting May 8.

"It was one of my favorite films at Sundance this year," TMVFF programming director Brian Ditchfield wrote in a message to the Gazette.

The documentary by director Dan Wolf examines eight people who quarantine themselves in a self-engineered replica of Earth’s ecosystem for two years.

"It is really the perfect movie for this moment," Mr. Ditchfield wrote. The link to view it beginning Friday is tmvff.org/spaceshipearth.
