It’s Oscar time again, with the 92nd annual Academy Awards red carpet rolling out on Sunday, Feb. 7. The presentations begin at 8 p.m. but the festivities and fashion commentary starting much earlier.

Here on the Vineyard, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center is hosting its annual viewing party so the action can be seen on the big screen in the company of other cinema obsessed.

The film center also gets things rolling early — two days early — with screenings of all the short films one never gets to see.

The short film categories include documentary shorts, live action shorts and animated shorts. Viewings are on Friday and Saturday so there is plenty of time to see all the shorts.

Then return to the film center on Sunday to cheer on your favorite films, some of which Vineyarders had a hand in creating, like the Irishman.
