This Saturday, June 9, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival will host a screening of A Painter Who Farms at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury. The documentary film, directed by Vineyarders Barbarella and David Fokos, tells the story of Allen Whiting, known for his plein-air paintings of Island landscapes. Mr. Whiting’s family has lived on the Island for 12 generations.

The film begins at 7 p.m. and is a benefit for the Agricultural Society and the film festival.
